Behind the Scenes

Drew Hancock makes his feature directorial debut with Companion, a psychological thriller produced by the team behind Barbarian. Hancock, who also penned the script, has previously worked on TV projects such as Blue Mountain State and Suburgatory.

Barbarian director Zach Cregger initially eyed the film as his next project, but eventually, Hancock took the helm. Companion is produced by BoulderLight Pictures in collaboration with New Line Cinema under a first-look deal. This marks the first film produced through this partnership, following New Line's competitive acquisition of Cregger’s next feature, Weapons.

Producers include Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Roy Lee, and Zach Cregger, while Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner serve as executive producers. Eli Born is the cinematographer, Scott Kuzio is the production designer, and Hrishikesh Hirway provides the music.
