Iraq vs Denmark, Rio 2016 Olympics: How to watch live on TV, mobile and online
Iraq will take on Denmark in a Group A clash of the Rio 2016 Olympics men's football at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia on Thursday, 4 August. It will be the first match for both sides and also the opening football match of the Olympics.
This is the second time the Iraq national team are participating in the Olympics having made themselves proud in 2004 at Athens. They progressed into the semi-finals where they were beaten by Paraguay and eventually ended their participation by finishing fourth. They qualified for Rio by finishing third in the AFC Cup, beating hosts Qatar on the way.
Denmark are in a similar situation as Iraq, having not made it to the Olympics in two decades. They crashed out of the group stages in 1996 and did not make it past the qualifying stages until this season. They made it to this tournament through the 2015 Uefa Euro U21 Championship where they were the semi-finalists.
