Behind the Scenes

Liz Feldman serves as the creator, showrunner, director, and executive producer of No Good Deed, bringing her expertise from Dead to Me to this new Netflix series. Silver Tree, also from Dead to Me, joins her as an executive producer and director for the pilot and additional episodes. They are joined by Christie Smith, Jessica Elbaum, and Will Ferrell, who are executive producers under Gloria Sanchez Productions, known for successful films like May December, Booksmart, and Hustlers.

Feldman has credited her writers' room for their contributions in crafting the show’s complex narrative, which she envisioned as a mystery. “They helped me expand on that and dig out the most complicated, fun, twisty version of that,” she notes.

In a statement about the series, Feldman revealed that No Good Deed was inspired by her own house-hunting experiences during the pandemic. “I was so sick of looking at our walls when we were on lockdown,” she said, recalling how her exploration of over 50 houses uncovered deep stories behind each family. This realization led her to understand that every house has its secrets.

Tracey Pakosta, Netflix's Head of Comedy, expressed excitement over Feldman’s new project, stating, “No good Liz Feldman project can go unproduced. She has an unmatched eye for dark comedy.”
