Plot

Is Season 5 of Star Trek: Lower Decks the Series’ Final Chapter?

YesStar Trek: Lower Decks season five has been confirmed as the final season by Paramount+. In April, the network announced the show's conclusion alongside the renewal of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for its fourth season.

Showrunner Mike McMahan had previously voiced concerns in 2023 about the potential end of the franchise's first animated comedy, despite having plenty of stories left to tell about the crew of the USS Cerritos. Following the announcement, McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman shared a heartfelt statement on social media, expressing their gratitude to the fans.

Cast member Jack Quaid, who portrays Ensign Brad Boimler, also posted his appreciation on Instagram.
