Salem’s Lot (Thursday, Oct. 3)

This Max original film, Salem’s Lot, follows author Ben Mears as he returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot, hoping to find inspiration for his next book. However, he soon discovers that a terrifying vampire has begun to prey on the town, turning his homecoming into a fight for survival.

The Franchise (Sunday, Oct. 6)

The Franchise follows the crew of a neglected franchise movie as they battle to survive in a chaotic and ruthless cinematic universe. Offering a hilarious look behind the scenes of superhero moviemaking, the series explores the messy origins of every cinematic blunder, asking the question: how exactly is the sausage made in the world of blockbuster films?

Have I Got News For You (Sunday, Oct. 6)

Hosted by Roy Wood Jr., along with team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black, the show offers a witty take on the week's news. Through comedic games and panel discussions, guests will have their knowledge of current events put to the test in this entertaining series.

Caddo Lake (Thursday, Oct. 10)

This Max Original film follows the mysterious disappearance of an eight-year-old girl, which unravels a chain of past deaths and vanishings. As the connections come to light, a fractured family’s history is forever changed.

Roller Jam (Thursday, Oct. 10)

This Magnolia Network/Max Original competition series premieres on Oct. 10, with six episodes airing weekly. Hosted by Jordin Sparks, the groundbreaking show features ten of America’s top roller-skating teams as they dance through the decades. Expert judges, including Johnny Weir and Terrell Ferguson, along with pop culture icons, will decide which team will claim the Roller Jam title and the $150,000 prize.

The Confidante (Friday, Oct. 11)

This series is a psychological thriller inspired by true events. It follows Christelle “Chris” Blandin, a Parisian who, after witnessing the Nov. 13, 2015 terrorist attacks, becomes deeply involved in a survivors' group. Claiming her best friend was injured at the Bataclan Theatre, Chris rises to prominence, but soon, discrepancies in her story raise doubts. Adapted from Alexandre Kauffmann’s La Mythomane du Bataclan, The Confidante explores truth and deception in the aftermath of tragedy.

I Am Not A Monster: The Lois Riess Murders (Tuesday, Oct. 15)

This HBO Original two-part documentary delves into the 2018 murder of David Riess by his wife, Lois, in a small Minnesota town, which stunned the community. Now, years later, Lois shares her story with filmmakers for the first time, attempting to explain her shocking actions, uncovering a troubling family history and her gambling addiction.

Louder: The Soundtrack of Change (Thursday, Oct. 17)

This Max Original documentary, Louder: The Soundtrack of Change, celebrates the power of music as a force for equality. Produced by Selena Gomez and Stacey Abrams, it explores the impact of iconic female musicians whose voices and activism have inspired generations in the fight for justice. The film is both a tribute to their influence and a call to action, encouraging viewers to continue raising their voices for change.

Maxxxine (Friday, Oct. 18)

This A24 film is set in 1980s Hollywood, where adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx lands her big break. However, as a mysterious killer targets Hollywood’s starlets, a trail of blood begins to expose Maxine’s dark past.

Breath of Fire (Friday, Oct. 18)

Breath of Fire explores the rise of Katie Griggs, known as Guru Jagat, who became a prominent figure in Kundalini yoga after opening the RA MA Institute in Los Angeles. The series reveals the surprising history of Kundalini from the 1960s to its current wellness presence, based on Hayley Phelan’s Vanity Fair article, “The Second Coming of Guru Jagat.” It examines modern spirituality, addressing issues of cultural appropriation and the risks of self-proclaimed gurus.

Trap (Friday, Oct. 25)

This Warner Bros. Pictures film follows a father and his teenage daughter as they attend a pop concert, only to find themselves at the heart of a dark and sinister event. Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film features a cast that includes Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills, and Allison Pill.

Somebody Somewhere Season 3 (Sunday, Oct. 27)

It follows Sam (Bridget Everett), a true Kansan who struggles to fit into her hometown. As she grapples with loss and acceptance, singing becomes her salvation, leading her on a journey to find herself and a community of outsiders who refuse to give up. In season three, the series showcases growth against all odds, illustrating that finding your people and your voice is possible anywhere.

Seth Meyers Comedy Special (Debuts this Oct.)

This HBO Original Comedy Special features comedian, writer, and host of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Seth Meyers, who filmed his first HBO special in front of a live audience at The Vic Theatre in Chicago. Directed by Neal Brennan, the special is executive produced by Meyers and Mike Shoemaker (Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions), along with Tim Sarkes and John Irwin. Chelsea Alonz serves as the producer.
