Filming
Filming for Before began in May 2023 in New Jersey under the working title Winston. However, production was halted in June 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America strike. After the strike ended, the series resumed filming in December 2023 in Moonachie, New Jersey. In January 2024, additional scenes were shot in Hobokenand by March 2024, production had moved to Independence Township, New Jersey. Despite the interruptions, the series continued its schedule once the strike was resolved.

Before is a limited series from Paramount Television Studios, created by Sarah Thorp, who serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Billy Crystal, who also stars in the series, is an executive producer alongside Academy Award-winning producer Eric Roth. The series also benefits from Adam Bernstein, the director of the pilot episode, and Jet Wilkinson as the producing director, ensuring a high-caliber production.
